Pastor Paul Sims was elected to serve as St. Michael M.B. Church's Senior Pastor April 23rd, 2022. Prior to that, he served as Pastor  of Redeeming Grace M.B. Church,  in University Park, IL.

The attributes that best describe Pastor Sims as a pastor are strong preaching, leadership development and counseling. He has expressed a burning desire to lead a church like St. Michael M.B. Church where biblical views are embraced and encouraged, with members who care about the needs of those around them and who want to connect others to the body of Christ. Pastor Sims takes worship and preaching very seriously, spending the first hours of his day focused on Bible study.

He graduated from the Samuel DeWitt School of Theology at Virginia Union University  in 2014 with his Master of Divinity.

Pastor Sims has been happily married to his wife, Carol R. Sims. They have seven children and three grandchildren.

Carol Sims is the First Lady of St. Michael M.B. Church. She has served faithfully providing love and loyal support to her husband in ministry.
Having a passion to see women living at their fullest God-given potential, her goal is to help develop and empower women, especially young single mothers in Christian living.  First Lady Sims has a genuine love for God, her family, and the work of the ministry. She loves praying, teaching, and serving the Lord which she plans to do all the days of her life.

She graduated from Concordia University with a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and a Type 75 Administrative Certification.  She is currently the Dean of Students for Robert Healy Elementary School in Chicago.
